A BILL to amend and reenact §54-2-19 of the Code of West Virginia,
1931, as amended, relating to compensation for condemnation
commissioners.
Be it enacted by the Legislature of West Virginia:
That §54-2-19 of the Code of West Virginia, 1931, as amended,
be amended and reenacted to read as follows:
ARTICLE 2. PROCEDURE.
§54-2-19. Compensation of commissioners and jurors.
Each commissioner shall receive as compensation for services
in each eminent domain proceeding a reasonable amount to be fixed
by an order entered of record in the proceeding, said compensation
not to exceed the sum of fifty dollars $150 per day to be taxed as
a part of the costs of the proceeding.
The jurors shall receive the same compensation fixed by law
for jurors in felony cases, to be taxed as a part of the costs of
the proceeding.
NOTE: The purpose of this bill is to raise the compensation
cap on compensation received by condemnation commissioners.
